If you’re a Calvin and Hobbes fan, you’ll want to check out Martijn Reemst’s creation: C.H.E.S.S. – the Calvin and Hobbes Extensive Strip Search. You can do complex boolean searches (like +calvin +rosalyn -calvinball) or search by publication date, and the results show the matching strip and any books it’s been published in.
