Today’s Astronomy Picture of the Day features a dust storm streaming off the north polar cap of Mars. Here’s a hi-res version which includes an image of a similar storm blowing off the Sahara Desert into the Atlantic Ocean.

Freeze ‘Em Dano

The mayor of Greensboro, North Carolina has suggested that inmates on death row should be cryogenically frozen rather than executed via the traditional methods. That way, if later evidence exonerated them, then they could be (at least potentially) unfrozen in the future.

WhatTheFont allows you to upload a scanned image of a font, and attempts to identify it by matching it against their database of typefaces. It successfully identified the two samples I uploaded.
