SoloTrek XFV

Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 the SoloTrek XFV makes its debut in an eBay auction, with bidding starting at $50,000. Take a look at the tethered flight test photos, and this image of the model I REALLY want.

UPDATE: You’ll find the eBay auction here.

Where did you hear about the solotrek? I checked the website a week or two ago and there was a letter saying that the project was history, because they were going to have a delay (of a month or something) in meeting one of their milestones. I checked the website today and I noticed that they said the winter newsletter was coming. Has the company’s fortunes reversed? I certainly hope so; I want to get one eventually.

p.s. B/c directvinternet is ceasing operations on 1/16/03, my email is unreliable now. My throw away account is original_sleestack@hotmail.com. Is that geeky enough?

When i was young i had a dream (while asleep) of flying THE solotrek flying machine. Several years back i saw a news story about the solotrek and read their website and at that time they were getting ready to do their teathered flight test. Then i was off line for some time and then other things took most of my time. LAST NIGHT i dreamed of the solotrek again and today i looked up the site again and all there was was a blank page. I feel i was born to fly that machine. I HOPE it is not a dead project.
